Marlette Homes Energy Award
Marlette Homes of Hermiston, Oregon received the Northwest Energy Efficient Manufactured Housing award for manufacturing the most Energy Star homes in 2006 for Oregon and the region. Marlette currently builds about 562 manufactured homes per year to the Northwest Energy Efficient Manufactured Homes (NEEM) Program and for the U.S. Department of Energy’s Building America Industrialized Housing Partnership guidelines.
These state-certified energy efficient manufactured homes use about 30 percent less energy for heating, cooling and water heating that a manufactured home built to federal standards. The homes have more insulation in ceilings, walls and floors, better windows and doors, a specially designed-and quiet-ventilation system, better sealed heating ducts and reduced drafts.
